Requirements and Responsibilities

Behavioral Health Manager manages the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Oversees a team performing psychological and behavioral assessments for patients. Being a Behavioral Health Manager ensures behavioral analysts design and implement effective behavior intervention plans. Conducts reviews and audits to ensure compliance with clinical policies, guidelines, and regulations, and to improve the effectiveness of those policies. Additionally, Behavioral Health Manager implements new departmental initiatives and training programs and supports and supervises staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in psychology or related field. May require Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Typically reports to a director. The Behavioral Health Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Behavioral Health Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
