Requirements and Responsibilities

Assistant Athletic Director - Compliance maintains institutional control of the compliance system for a university/college's athletic program. Develops procedures and policies to monitor and ensure compliance with all NCAA and conference rules and regulations. Being an Assistant Athletic Director - Compliance verifies student eligibility to participate in university athletics. Investigates and reviews alleged NCAA and conference rule violations and communicates findings to appropriate parties. Additionally, Assistant Athletic Director - Compliance serves as a liaison between the athletic program and the NCAA. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a institutional officer. The Assistant Athletic Director - Compliance manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be an Assistant Athletic Director - Compliance typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
