Requirements and Responsibilities

Architect IV is responsible for substantial architectural projects. Selects, evaluates, and implements architectural procedures and techniques used to complete projects. Being an Architect IV has a diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices, uses advanced techniques, and has responsibility for finished plans, specifications, and material approval. Drafts reports and specifications, supervises the preparation of architectural plans, and reviews completed plans and estimates. Additionally, Architect IV may supervise and guide the work of lower-level architects. Requires a bachelor's degree in architecture. Requires a State Architect's License. Typically reports to a manager. The Architect IV work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. To be an Architect IV typically requires 7+ years of related experience.
