Algorithm and Simulation Engineer V designs, develops, and evaluates the effectiveness of algorithms and frameworks to simulate and model complex systems such as behavior, threat detection, or real-world systems or vision. Uses machine learning, computational methods, and data analysis to identify, implement, and test relevant and viable algorithms for modeling a system or problem. Being an Algorithm and Simulation Engineer V creates scalable frameworks to run simulations repeatedly and quickly or model operational environments and processes. Develops visualizations to review and communicate results. Additionally, Algorithm and Simulation Engineer V writes and reviews code in relevant languages, packages, and libraries. Typically requires a master's degree in mathematics, physics, computer science, or engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Algorithm and Simulation Engineer V works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization.
