Aerospace Engineer II
Also referred to as: Intermediate Level Aerospace Engineer, Aerospace Engineer II
Requirements and Responsibilities
Designs and supervises the construction of aircraft and associated parts such as airframe, auxiliaries, communication equipment, controls, fuselage, and powerplant. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts and conducts research to determine flight characteristics. May concentrate in a single aerospace discipline such as flight mechanics, guidance, and control systems, propulsion systems, robotics, or aerodynamics. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.
