Requirements and Responsibilities

Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room provides professional nursing care to assigned post-operative patients. Monitors vital signs, administers medications, including intravenous medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with surgeons and anesthesiologists. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room provides support to patients waking up from anesthesia, including bandage maintenance, pain management, nausea treatment, and ensuring patients receive adequate rest, fluids and nutrients. Observes patients' progress, records observations in patient medical records, and updates attending physicians directly when necessary. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room teaches patients how to clean bandages, take medication, and follow post-surgical care instructions. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
