Requirements and Responsibilities

Physician - Geriatrics specializes in dealing with illness and other complications due to the aging process in the elderly. Ensures proper injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Being a Physician - Geriatrics treats disorders that arise due to aging such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. Requests necessary tests, follow-up visits and refers patients to specialists, as necessary. Additionally, Physician - Geriatrics requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Physician - Geriatrics's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
