Lactation Consultant

Requirements and Responsibilities
Responsible for identifying and correcting lactation problems. May plan and lead breastfeeding classes for expecting mothers. Advises physicians and healthcare providers on lactation problems experienced by patients. Requires an associate's degree and is certified as a registered nurse. Typically reports to a supervisor and/or manager. No specified years of experience. Bachelor's or advanced degree, certification and/or license in specialty required.
