Requirements and Responsibilities

Labor Relations Specialist IV participates in labor contract negotiations. May prepare contract agreements. Being a Labor Relations Specialist IV must have extensive knowledge of federal, state and local regulations pertaining to labor issues. Represents the organization in legal hearings on labor issue and with labor governing bodies. Additionally, Labor Relations Specialist IV makes recommendations for changes to existing policies to ensure compliance with new or proposed regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be a Labor Relations Specialist IV typically requires 7+ years of related experience. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group.
