GIS Analyst V compiles, manipulates, and analyzes geospatial data. Designs, develops, and maintains databases and systems of GIS data. Being a GIS Analyst V creates reports, maps, applications, and visualizations conveying the results of spatial analyses. Utilizes scripting languages to refine GIS data pipelines and processes. Additionally, GIS Analyst V may provide GIS training or assistance to other organization members. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The GIS Analyst V works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. To be a GIS Analyst V typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
