Commodity Buyer

Requirements and Responsibilities
Responsible for purchasing commodities to support a company's supply chain. Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Familiar with the standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Typically reports to a manager. Typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.
