Aircraft Mechanic (Non-Jet)

Requirements and Responsibilities
Keeps airplane in safe working condition by servicing engines, engine components, and airframe components. Modifies and replaces parts such as instruments, wiring, and tires. Identifies hazardous aircraft conditions and determines when aircraft should not be flown. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. May be entry level if some experience in the skill Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision.
